The following advice should ensure you get maximum benefit from your massage :
- Drink plenty of fluids before and after your massage in order to avoid dehydration, try to stick to water if possible. If you become dehydrated this could lead to headaches , nausea
, muscle cramps and dry skin.
- Avoid caffeine and alcohol before and after your
massage. Massage helps remove toxins from the body and by adding toxins such as caffeine and alcohol you are only making your
body work harder to remove them and thus increases the chances of dehydration and the side effects thereof.
- Avoid heavy exercise . A massage is a full workout in itself. Your body needs time to relax afterwards
, stick to stretching and light exercise.
- Avoid heavy meals , keep to light meals
and snacks to keep your blood sugars stable. This should minimise the chances of feeling light headed and dizzy.
